Introducing the 'State to State' Open Water Swim

Introducing a new event to the YMMF15 line up, the “State to State” open water swim.

Previously part of the Yarrawonga-Mulwala Splash ‘n’ Dash, we’re proud to announce the State to State swim will be taking place as part of YMMF 2015. This is a very important community partnership and we’re looking forward to working with the Splash ‘n’ Dash Committee to bring this exciting event to new heights on the YMMF schedule.

This event now gives the swimmers amongst you the chance to shine! Held on Saturday afternoon, the 1400m swim starts on the Victorian foreshore of Lake Mulwala and finishes on the NSW side of the Lake, in the lagoon of the Mulwala Water Ski Club . This is also where the YMMF presentations will be held for all of Saturday’s events, followed by the official YMMF event dinner. A great opportunity to come together with friends and family, competitors and volunteers and spectators and supporters and celebrate the day’s events and catch up in preparation for the Sunday schedule. Later in the evening Mulwala Water Ski Club will play host to Aussie rock legend, Jon Stevens, who will be performing live.

The State to State is a straightforward point-to-point swim. The average water temperature in Lake Mulwala in October sits around 18 degrees and although last year’s sunny weekend provided perfect conditions for the swim events we still suggest you wear your wetsuits!

There are two age groups for this event; Junior (15-17 years old) and Adult (17 years +). The swim is a qualifying event for eligibility for the McGregor Trophy and also contributes points to the Club Shield so make sure your club gets around the State to State to take advantage of the points up for grabs!
